Introduction to the Humanities

An introduction to the humanities through a review of some of the major developments in human culture. The goal is to analyze how societies express themselves through literature, art, music, philosophy, mythology, and technology. Focus is on developing the conceptual tools to understand cultural phenomena critically.

Giants of the Arts

An examination of artists whose works advanced their art forms, who became a key influence within their fields, and who influence contemporary artists today. Students will examine how these artists used the components of their art forms, what their greatest contributions are to our society, and how myth and morality are expressed in the arts.
