I am a historian who specializes in American and world history. My research interests lie generally in the areas of social and cultural history, the history of science and technology, economic and political history, film and media studies, and art and music history. My current research focuses on the political, social, cultural, and technological developments that influenced Generation X.

I teach a variety of history and humanities courses for University of Maryland, Virginia Peninsula Community College, and Ohio University, and I also teach incarcerated students through California State University’s prison program. Additionally, I am a subject matter expert in the areas of U.S. history, women’s history, African American history, and the history of science and technology for University of Maryland. I am also a researcher for the Connor Study Endowment at Ohio University and an associate editor for the intellectual history journal The Carryall.

I hold a Ph.D. in American history from Ohio University, an M.A. in world history from Norwich University, an M.A. in humanities from California State University, and a B.A. in philosophy and cultural studies from Arizona State University.
